Straight out of the border town of El Paso TX., born and raised in the Sun City, comes a DJ with his own unique style and personality, DJ Dominate. While listening to a public radio station one night, this DJ acquired the bug to become one of El Paso's premier mixers back in the late 80's and early 90's. The show that got him started was called 'Custom Traxx on 88.5 FM KTEP' every Friday night from 10 pm to 2 am. This show was produced and managed by Charles Pratt III. Charles welcomed this DJ into his world and had enough faith in him to let him run the show on his own. The show became so popular every Friday night that it was competing with commercial radio stations like Z-93, B-94, and the Power House...Power 102.
After several years, the station turned the format into all Jazz and Classical, eliminating the Friday Night Custom Traxx Show. Before the show was cancelled, Power 102 contacted DJ Dominate to do a guest mix show and the half hour mix show became a huge success.
