Tijawan Obie also known as Ty Obie was born December 2, 1985 in Newburgh, NY. Growing up in a household surrounded by music lovers like his father, he was embedded with the soulful sounds of The Manhattans, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Curtis Mayfield to name a few. At an early age his passion for music was ignited. His infatuation with music would soon grow into a love-based commitment to rhythm and melody and the creation process of it all. From his teenage years into his early 20’s he continued to study and learn how to produce and engineer. Focusing in on Logic and ProTools, he began reaching into his soulful roots and pairing them with the boldness and attitude of Hip Hop. He enlarged his catalogue with beats and then moved into producing his first major indie project entitled, “Real Talk” with artist, Mike Flowerz. This sparked a new love in production and since then, Ty has produced a music soundtrack to a short film entitled “Ink” by Katie Mack and Okema T. Moore.
