Since joining mixcloud in 2015 as a listener, the dream was to one day put a set together with as many of my favourite tracks included as possible. Being a 70's baby, funky dnb, with its soulful flavours & uplifting melodies was the obvious choice, only trouble being, I first had to learn how to mix!! Fast forward 6 years and Liquid funk has finally arrived!
I dedicate this set to all the djs i've listened to these past years, for their inspiration & support & obviously to the amazing artists themselves, providing us with their incredible gifts.

haha farksake.. so i'm on re-listen twarz envision for my soul incision.. some point I read my comment from then, as bout you by subsid comes on and.. i''m like, that's not the tune, wtf was i on about wonderin back when.. so i popped out the back to give the birds some seed bread n that.. 6.30am here and not workn today in fact.. I wander back in head noddin bein free free free now, free from your spell and snap: I see it's a subsid tune and go ah haha that must a been where I was at :-D now bare with me, it's never that simple within or without me.. Villem comes in and I'm like damn this tune! one of my all time favourites boom! We Had A Song (feat. Soooo smooth. You do such a great job on the track transitions, it’s beautiful. Great tracks and a great vibe throughout, and you don’t fall into the start stop pattern so many DnB sets do, which is really nice to keep the flow. I find myself looping the tail ends of tracks to do that, but I can’t even tel if you’re doing the same or just have the tracks that dialed in. My hat is off to you! Thank you for sharing.
Hey Troy, thank you for the awesome feedback! Lets say some tracks are much easier to mix than others as im sure youve already discovered. some producers leave long intros & outros with no definite key so mixing with these are easy, like house music for example. Dirty bass is easier but liquid, especially vocal dnb is the most challenging. But i like a challenge! therefore i find a quieter section, anywhere within the track to loop and transition if a track stops dead to keep the flow going. i remapped a fader into my mixer which has helped massively too (thanks to youtube for that!!) ill have to check some your stuff out when ive got some more time but thank you again for tuning in. take care for now! :))
