Since 1999 I have been contemplating a proper way to define hacking music...over the years my studies and work as been a pursuit into defining this technique. I have come to the conclusion that to truly hack music is to hack genres. From this the concept of the name Dr1v3r has manifested. When dealing with computers there is software and hardware...in the Dj world there is hardware and software....I am the Dr1v3r that communicates the hardware to the software. So my introduction to this concept is to show how to cross the genre of screwed music with the genre Metal. What resonated with me to Screwed music is because as a child in 1984 I remember getting that tape player, and listening to ll Cool J , Whodini etc etc. My family did not have the money to pay for batteries so I always had to listen to music slowed, especially rock rap bands like The Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers..so this set of tracks you hear is a tribute to the poor mans music.
