ThemooOKieDJ’s love for music has brought him here, to be the DJ. His mission is to fill ears with nostalgia and new beats that might make you stop dead in your tracks. He has dedicated time (and money) to expose the public to gems from his archive in hopes of spreading the gospel of good music. He has found the balance between spinning music he may not necessarily listen to playing songs he knows all the words to. His openness is his gift and what gives him the advantage over other DJs with a sincere love and enjoyment spinning different genres from hip hop to soul/R&B to indie rock, house/electro to dub/trap and top 40 (sometimes).
He has DJed for shows with Anthony Hamilton, Martin Luther, Foreign Exchange, Kid Sister, galleries, poetry events, festivals and SXSW; as well as having a few residential gigs while in Sacramento and the Bay Area.
His weapons of choice are two turntables, a laptop, external hard drive and Serato.
