2004, was the year Thabang Selepe became a DJ going by the name of “Rêve JD”. The Soweto born DJ had been exposed to the industry long before then & it was now time for him to rise up.
Now known as “TheBang DJ”, Thabang has never been afraid of change or adaptation.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, TheBang is one of the most charismatic disc jockey to ever hit the scene. Raised in the dusty streets of Soweto during a time where South Africa was at the heart of transformation, he was exposed to a multi-cultural society and therefore exposed to different musical genres from an early age.
His first experience of dance music was in the early 90’s when ‘Disco Music’ was still big in SA. He was fortunate to be growing up in a place with a lot of entertainment; therefore his ears were always graced with the loud melodic sounds.
