I've been a DJ for quite a long time now, over 30 years, I was brought up around UK sound systems (well I WAS born in the UK), namely Dread Diamonds (my older brothers sound system). Naturally I wanted to get involved asap, so about 11 years old would sneak into the local youth club whenever they played (Shepperds Youth Club). Lovers Rock/Revival/Soul and Steppas was my thing. Eventually I was allowed to select some tunes as I knew a lot of them in next to no time. Eventually I started my own sound called Pure Silk but changed it to Motivation Roadshow. Now I only really do private parties/functions having done the club scene for a number of years, mainly when turntables were used. I love my music but not the angry stuff so much, Neo Soul is for me these days but I still appreciate all forms of music, especially R&B and old skool garage and of course reggae, plus sexy soulful house.
