StudioCut was born in Milan, Italy, from an idea of Emiliano Di Mauro e Simone Scalia.
Our objects are not created with a computer, nor they are conceived with a drawing.
They are the product of our constant interaction with the things that our environment is made of, that is, objects already produced and already consumed.
They are born out of our need to manipulate our environment. Similarly to the way we, as humans, have acted upon nature in order to create culture, we now want to act upon the things that surround us in order to retake possession of our cultural environment, and redefine the value that our environment has for us.
Our inspiration comes from chaos, from chance, from the encounter with the things that exist around us. What we do is not recycling used objects: we just use of parts of them. We don’t want to give objects a new life; we want to recompose the functions that these parts, according to us, can play in our lives.
