Jay Donaldson, more frequently known as Drop/Dead, tends to wear his influences heavily on his sleeve. Whether it's drawing from early garage classics or Chicago house, the influence is laid bare with his own trademark stamp all over it whether this be one of his original productions or a DJ mix.
Having caught the ears of XLR8R, Fader and promoters from us to the ever-on point GetMe, this summer will see him release his first batch of 12"'s, many of which explore his experimentations with the London bass sound and darker cuts that wouldn't sound amiss in Berghain.
And this Friday Drop/Dead will be flaunting his spectral house leanings alongside Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium at the Camp basement, with the vintage-tinged Brassica and looping disco of Jeeks in support.
