SOB.001 Rekordah

For the first installment of the Streets Of Beige mix series we asked young Londoner Rekordah to mix up some of his favourite staggered cuts , many of which were chosen from his own Astrodynamics label. A rising star on the London dubstep scene, Rekordah's sound evokes more the instrumental hip-hop of Dilla than the machine workings of Rusko et al, and has a swing that'll knock you for six. Sprinkle some organic sample chopping and 8-bit noodlings in there (as is becoming standard practice from Croydon to LA) and we've got a tasty selection of the freshest bass in 2010. Not only that but we actually have a night launching on Friday 23rd July at the Old Blue Last. Expect the ghost of Dilla, a 1987 Miami College Cheerleading Team reunion and spooky, ethereal visuals from our man Felix Lee.
