I was born on the 24th of February 1955 which was the time when Rock 'n ' Roll was erupting onto the music scene. John Lennon said "Before Elvis there was nothing" I first began to learn guitar at the age of about fourteen as far as I can remember.I followed a TV programme called Hold down a Chord and I think the first tune I managed to learn in a fingerpicking style was a song called Candy Man an old folk blues also guitar boogie or shuffle by Big Bill Broonzy. While blues was my first love hearing Brownie Terry and sonny magie Muddy Waters alongside early Elvis Eddie Cochrane Chuck Berry and there contemperies. As I was growing up I was blown away by every new single from The Beatles The Rolling stones The Kinks ect.Through my brother I was introduced to Frank Zappa and The Mothers of invention and was hooked from his first album Freak Out and look forward to seeing my first live show from Dweezil his son who's band still includes members from Franks many brilliant line-ups.
