MODULATIONS ON THE FLY is a series of resonances in sound, art, and philosophy. In this season's episodes, students of Petra Klusmeyer's »Un*ound Writing« and »Advanced Sound Projects and Theories« of HfK Bremen explore the sonic in its material and conceptual dimension. The podcasts will show you how.

by Eszter Forgács

This podcast is an account of Eszter’s recent Fine Arts Thesis (diploma), a work that deals with questions of »a life« (Deleuze), the body, one’s finitude. These human, all-too-human concerns find expression in a sonic work as part of her diploma performance. Listening to her field recordings, a collage of urban sounds and natural environs modulated into a sonic labyrinth, one travels, as it were, through a tube in which dark and light impressions reverberate. In an interspersed conversation between Eszter and a friend (Javier Gago Holzscheiter), the listener learns about the process, feelings, and thoughts that underlie her practice.
