At the age of 7 I received a second hand Philips 614 stereo record player, at the time I thought it was like a pot of gold.... And its still going strong !! The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and my Aunts Donna Summer 45s never sounded so good.
The first 12inch I bought was Stars on 45 Vol 2, which I bought for "Stars Get Ready" on the flip side, I was Nine.
I worked cleaning, setting up market stalls, babysitting just to save for the next next release from Philly International Records and Salsoul.
And then there was House... I was unknowingly a fan of the House sound whilst the foundations were still being laid, having already collected early remixes from Shep Pettibone, Junior Vasquez, Farley jackmaster Funk, Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan.
