SHEGUN WEST: BIOGRAPHY
Having started out in the church choir as a percussion player in Lagos Nigeria where he was born, Shegun realised his passion for bass guitar and learnt to play it and later the KORA(African Harp). Shegun joined his first band while i was in high school, he played for a group called "Compassion Band" and not so long left for Accra Ghana where he stayed for few months performing as well as learning the Ghanaian music. On arrival in Nigeria he was part of the band that performs at the inauguration of the legendary Femi Kuti's African Shrine, later then joined Paul Play's band and that created opportunities for him to share stages with international artists like; Joe Thomas, Linden David Hal, Eve, Awilo just to mention few.
Since 2004 that Shegun have made South Africa his second home, he's also been privileged to play bass for bands/artists such as Denim, Tokyo Groove, Olufemi, Ambassador of jazz, Khanya, Kunle Ayo, Uche, James Okon, Nyege, Mapumba, Pops Mohamed,
