Sergio Maldonado is one of the founders of Water Bear Records. His humble beginnings started by producing trance for various record labels. Overtime, he received support from some of the worlds biggest producers and played along side many great DJs. After a long internal struggle to find himself within trance, he had come to realize that it was not for him. The time had come for him to move on. This was true until he found himself listening to John Digweed at a local club establishment in Los Angeles. Once he heard techno live, he understood the true essence of dance music. For him, it was not about the glitz and glamour, the fame or the money but about creating music in its rawest, truest form. Techno embodies these qualities which sparked in him, his true calling. After this experience, he had decided to forgo the rat race of the modern day music business and with his two partners, Sandor Varga and Wendell Frohwein, created Water Bear Records.
