Bem vindo, I am Andreia João, a Portuguese traditional singer, songwriter, acoustic and electronic music lover, and most recently also a producer. Senhora do Ó is my solo project with the support of samples, virtual sounds, other organic instruments such as the Adufe, friends, human voice, harmony and Nature.
I feel deeply connected with organic and ethnic soundscapes, and with shamanic rhythms and melodies, and most inspired with the sound before any word.
My initial major purpose in 2012 was to revisit some of the Old Portuguese Songbook many references, such as the ancestral Portuguese oral tradition repertoire, lined within this new more contemporary context.

In 2020 one of my songs - Uivo de Lamento - won a creativity award from Beyond Music community, and in February 2021 that song was included in the album SAME PLANET - Beyond Music Vol. 2, produced by Manu Katché.
