There's been a trend of Mixclouders stepping outside of the EDM box. Gaz (Jellylegs) Hughes challenged me to do the same, so this is my contribution, There was a time before I knew what a rave was and had no clue about DJing either. When I was in College at USD in San Diego, it was an absolute rite of passage to go to the clubs on Revolucion Ave. in Tijuana. These were some of the happiest times of my life, so i wanted to share a snapshot of the sounds pouring out of the clubs at that time. Rio Rita's, Club Escape, The House, Margaritas Village were some popular spots. This mix is dedicated to Andy Tran, my roommate at USD. We downed many a beer together while the clubs bumped these songs. I went to share this on his FB page and was stunned to learn he'd recently passed away. Let this serve as a memorial to some great times had. RIP Andy.

Yeah! This brings me back in time, where life was easy (when looking back from today). Really nice collection. A few month ago, I made a mix of 1989, too. But its more EBM & New Wave stuff. I shared it on my own FB page, for all the friends of the past. Now i think... hope they are doing fine... sorry about your friend. ...now "Roam" is playing... makes me melancholy right now :(

I'm still struggling to accept it too. I made this (dedication included) unaware of what has happened. I posted it to his page, and logged in the next day expecting to read his response. That's when i read the other posts. We had some crazy adventures together.
