House music, old and new.
I started DJing around 1999, with my first gig at the Cooler in Dundee before becoming a resident at Foundation, playing nights including Zap and Kujah. When Foundation closed we moved to Oxygen, then back to the same building when it reopened as the Reading Rooms, where I played for several years. There were also nights at the Ice Factory in Perth, plenty of house parties and the deliberately ridiculous Donkey Thong – a reaction to increasingly pretentious club-night names that even earned a mention from Pete Tong for being particularly terrible. We considered that a success. 😁
After a fairly lengthy break, I'm now back behind the decks with Johnny Christie and Ian Lackie at Connect, Canvas Dundee.
Musically, it's house at the heart of it – from disco and funky house through to deeper and techier sounds, mixing old favourites with new music.
And The Laser Guy? That's the day job.
