At an early age, Robert mastered the trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, and piano, joining the National Children’s Wind Orchestra.
Influenced by his musical upbringing, he expanded into jazz, brass bands, and dance music as a teenager.
As Rubberlips, Robert made a mark on the dance music scene, collaborating with Grammy-winner Louie Vega, Utah Saints, Damo Suzuki (CAN), Groove Armada’s Tom Finlay, and Ashley Beedle, performing at the Royal Albert Hall, Dublin Castle, Trades Club, and Beatherder festival.
Now pursuing a solo career, he works with artists like Gregory Thomas (Funkadelic), Robin Lee (Faze Action), and Kevin G Davy (Cymande). Alongside Steve Gligorovic and singer/songwriter Winter, he has released several singles
His music has aired on BBC Radio 1, Soho Radio, LA's KCRW, and the Lopsided World of L show.
