A constant musical score of Raymon Imag's (Ray.moan Ee.maj) [Raymond Huizar] Imagination and even his neurotic psyche. Created originally by Ray & Dani, A Boy Named Pony, A Man Called Horse (the original full project name) was ultimately set up as way to write modern pop songs that would combat a Heterosexist Pop-song landscape. The next step in ABNPs evolution of sound and lyrical subtext would include the human need for connection and equality for all. Wether trans, gay, straight, black or white or immigrant or refugee we are all one.
Raised on old rock n' roll and R&B, we grew up with a deep romance for the moodier chicer side of Post Punk & New Wave. Steadied our heads and maturing years with Shoegaze, 90's Hip-Hop and Trip-Hop we dream as loud as we scream and whisper. We watch the Pop charts from time to time in the hopes of revolution and we make our own rules.
