Radio Free Berlin School plays the hypnotic, sequencer-driven sound born in West Berlin’s underground at the turn of the 1970s with Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ash Ra Tempel, and taken up since by generations of synthesists all over the world, from the cassette and festival scene of the 80s and 90s to the artists pushing it forward today.
Each set is a long-form journey that moves freely between the eras: classic 1970s tracks next to the sequencer masters of the 1980s and 90s and new music from today’s scene.
Kosmische Dreamscapes – slow, weightless ambient and space music for drifting off into the cosmos
Kosmische Nights and Tangerine Dreams – classic Berlin School sequencers, steady and hypnotic
Kosmische Klänge – faster sequencers and heavier beats, Berlin School with the throttle open
