Supplies of adventurous new (and reissued) music continue uninterrupted during this particular month that could be characterised by the nightmarish scenarios caused by trade barriers and short supplies. It’s always a challenge to select and represent the sheer diversity of music making that the Team are made aware of, but supplementing our show at BBC Radio Merseyside certainly helps. Hopefully choosing to hear our choices makes these artists easier to enjoy.
Matthew E White & Lonnie Holley show they are able to attain free flowing magic in a high end studio environment. Avant Garde Japanese artists and Noise innovators The Body and continue to push forward the possibilities, and the warmth of vintage analogue is explored too. Jane Ira Bloom & Mark Helias have recorded an album of instrumental improvisation, and Some Kind of Tomorrow is a good example of their delicate interactions. The one reissue is Robbie Basho, who greatly expanded the possibilities of the guitar.
