Piers Thompson is a DJ, film-maker and promoter. He founded London’s original Rare Groove club, The Soul Furnace, and continues to surprise and delight discerning Ravers in London and beyond. He quit for a bit but was tempted back to the decks by Matthew Freud (for his wedding) and Nick Jones (for Soho House). His sound has been described as ‘a fine and rare groove, where Old Skool meets Guilty Pleasures and they make out’.
He has a residency at Novikov, where he plays mainly Deep House. He also has a weekly radio show, Portobello Radio, which is regularly in Mixcloud’s Funk, Reggae and Blues chart. He is also a regular at Bez’s Acid House, the busiest dance tent at Glastonbury, is on the roster of DJs at The Groucho and has annual Carnival parties at The Salusbury and The Cow.
