The post-punk / new wave / new romantic influences on nearly everything made for some wonderful listening ... old established artists ... were flexible enough to embrace new music sensibilities, with varying degrees of success of course.

I like the idea that a radio show can set the mood... and friday night listening should set the mood of ending the week, and setting the tone for the weekend. Like I said, celebration, anticipation, and chilling out, all at the same time.

... The genius of songwriters and musicians and producers and sound engineers can lift our spirits, and wrap us in the warm envelope of despair when we need it. This is kind of why I do what I do when I curate music ...
