Sydney, Australia

Hailing from New Zealand, Paul Medder is a vinyl lover with thirty years’ DJing experience. His sets mostly explore house, techno, garage, disco, and boogie, though he loves venturing into soul, funk, jazz, hip hop, Brazilian music, reggae, and the funkier edges of rock.

Paul began DJing in the mid-90s, as the host of a weekly electronic music show on the Hamilton (NZ) student radio station Contact 89FM. He hosted this show for five years, along with shows on UFM (Hamilton) and George FM (Auckland). Paul held residencies at clubs in Auckland and Hamilton. He has continued to play parties regularly, along with occasional club work.

The experience of living in London and Brazil between 2002-2019 expanded Paul’s musical references and introduced him to his greatest DJ influences: open-minded selectors like Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Floating Points, David Mancuso, Gilles Peterson, and Luke Una.

He prefers playing vinyl but can adapt to digital if required. DM him for bookings.
