My name is Omid. In 2009, Iran launched up a satellite named Omid because it means "Hope." My last name is an Australian wine. When I was born, my name was going to be William, but since Bill means "shovel" in Persian that was a no-go. Sometimes I wish I had been named Bill, so I could go around everywhere and say "Hey... I dig that." But you can call me Homie, or Sue, or whatever you want. What's in a name? People have told me that I look like Ryan Merriman or David Duchovny. I was raised Muslim but I spent about 6 months as a catechist. It didn't work out, what can I say? I don't like church. Never did. Never will.
