a mother
an artist,
a beggar of his grace,
a child of war,
the abused warrior,
a lost child,
an immigrant with no land, grown in shadows .
I lived a thousand lives.
Searched for a father
and
found myself.
I was not the yogi,
not the monk,
Nor the saint.
I wasn’t the abuser,
nor the abused.
the jet-setter,
or the millionaire.
I am His humble servant, surrendered at his feet,
my body a river bed, living only with the current of his grace.
It comes and it releases, one breath at the time.
