Its the 21st May, 1982. Opening night of The Hacienda club in Manchester, England. British comedian Bernard Manning stands on a rickety stage and proclaims: "Ive played some shitholes during my time, but this is really something". Little did he know that this now infamous club would become the throbbing core of the UKs house and techno scene throughout the late 80s and early 90s. By the time Manchester-born house and techno producer Nik Feral began thrilling audiences across Europe with his scalpel-sharp arrangements, The Hacienda was long closed. But thats not to say Feral doesn't have the weight of Manchester's legacy behind him. And with history comes expectation. Expectation that is stoked the minute you are released by UMEKs hallowed 1605 Music Therapy imprint - as happened with Feral back in 2011. It's Feral's ability to seamlessly weave multiple ideas and multiple structures into his arrangements that sets him apart.
