Between 2014 and 2016, Sandrine Astier created a series of portraits titled Music is Color, developed through collaborations with various DJs. Using original mixes provided by each artist, she engaged in a deeply intuitive creative process: listening became immersion, the body responded instinctively, and colors emerged.
Each mix acted as a sensory trigger. Guided by rhythm, textures, and energy, Sandrine translated sound into visual form. The portrait gradually took shape, elevating the DJ into an iconic figure — a vibrant messenger of a sonic universe.

The artworks were published alongside the mixes on platforms such as Mixcloud and SoundCloud, offering a dialogue between image and sound.
