Hardly a mix but my headspace's currently nonexistent so trying to get lost in a few records, Shabaka's EP "Afrikan Culture" being one I'm revisiting constantly. He describes it as “a forest of sound where melodies & rhythms float in space & emerge in glimpses”, an image that I'm attached to & the core of this mix (3 'songs' feature + mix cover is from the insert).
Shabaka is an absolute sonic revelation and his music always leaves the deepest impression on me. The way he constantly transformers his sound, incorporating so many genres whilst unshackling himself from any labels is inspiring.
