Trying to get back into the groove of it & since I had a bit of a rough night I tried to focus my energy elsewhere. A mix of old & new tunes that got me moving in the latter half of this year when we could finally (FINALLY) dance again.
On the topic of movement: Mix cover lovingly nicked from Emma-Jean Thackray's fantastic debut record "Yellow", which I can't rec enough. 'Movementt' off the album is the heart of this mix: a jazzy/funky/trip hop/house banger of a jam. The lyrics sum it up perfectly:
"Move your body/move your mind/move your soul". Amen to that. That's the sentiment I tried to reach, so hope it moves you & gives you a taste of the dancefloor since it doesn't look like we'll see them for (hopefully a short) while. Love & hugs to everyone currently struggling through this rollercoaster again, we'll make through.
PS. one of my turntables kept flipping out at points, hopefully not as glaringly obvious as it did to my ears.
