How Mixcloud Charts Work

Hi there,
In an effort to be more transparent with our community, this week I’d like to give you insight into how the Mixcloud charts work. Our goal is to help you succeed and get the most out of Mixcloud, so read on to find out how you can boost your chart rankings in a few easy steps
1. The most common tags on Mixcloud have a chart of their own. So, there’s a Hip Hop chart, a House one, and so on.
Top tip: when you upload a show make sure you tag it with a primary genre to ensure it’s discoverable on the chart rankings!
2. Chart rankings fluctuate based on engagement i.e how many favorites, shares, and listens your shows generate. We also monitor external sources such as social media sites to help determine where you rank.
Top tip: Make sure you promote your shows beyond Mixcloud and tag any featured artists or guests (so they can re-share) as this will boost you up in the charts.
3. Engagement (i.e favorite, shares, listens) is only impactful within the first week of a newly uploaded show. So you will need to keep the momentum up to stay in the chart, after 7 days your show will no longer rank.
Top tip: schedule social media posts in the days following the upload of your show to keep the heat on and drive more listens.
4. Longer listens and external shares influence chart positions more than any other aspect. This is because we care strongly about authentic engagement vs. shallow plays (i.e. fans genuinely wanting to listen to your shows all the way through).
Top tip: You can check how long users are listening to your show with Pro stats via https://www.mixcloud.com/pro/
Finally, you might be wondering what makes your chart position drop. This is because there's a difference between global and local charts. After 7 days, your show will only display its highest rank on the global chart.

I was very excited to see my mix had made number 91 in the Global Big Room House Charts. I shared on Facebook, and my contacts want to see who else is in the charts, as I do to. So simple question....where can I see a list of the actual chart in which I am number 91?
I had one about 5 months ago and made it to number 8 but there is no rank chart under my mix like i had in a previous one. Any reason to why.

I've noticed that if my mix is in the charts for example at number 10 on my hashtag, in the colour box of chart history at this exact same time; it says my mix is at number 59! Anyone else noticed this?!
Where do the charts actually live though? I can't find them. When I click on a genre it shows "Featured" but there's no chart or ranking...
Happy to see my latest mix entered in the charts! This kinda gives me more inspiration.

The only thing I don't like about the charts per country is that these hyper-promoted international shows are always on top, no matter what country you're looking at.
For example : it would be nice to see ONLY Belgian uploads in the Belgium-charts.
When I'm looking at charts per country it's because I want to check out DJ's from a specific country.

I receive emails from Mixcloud to notify me when one of my mixes has charted but how do I view the actual charts?
How can I have 17 plays uet be number 75 in the Techno chart?
Amount of actual minutes listened? I'm at 79 and in the same boat.
So I'm 59th in global minimal..but does it go up to?.59th out of what?
