New York, United States

From Billboard festivals and Burning Man art cars to Amsterdam boat parties and Nigerian radio, Matt Medved is a musical chameleon who has never shied from sharing his sound with the five continents he's lived upon. Raised on poetry and prose in New York, where he currently works as Billboard's Senior Editor, Dance/Electronic, he now fuses his songwriting with elements of house, techno and world music.

Medved first became enamored with house music while living in South Africa. After returning stateside, he dove into the deep Chicago house scene and hosted a popular WNUR 89.3 FM radio show. When his conflict resolution work took him to Nigeria for a summer, Medved became a resident DJ on Rhythm 93.7 FM, Africa’s largest radio station, exposing more than 6 million listeners to house and techno.
