Lava On Wax is a musical project by the DJ/Selector Matteo Fava. While living in Amsterdam Matteo sets to learn about Jamaican Reggae genre in greater detail, thanks to the abundance of record shops and DJ culture. This interest lands him an opportunity to start working at Vintage Voudou back in 2015, a record shop specialized in sounds from Africa, Caribbean, Latin America, India as well as Soul & Funk music from all over the world. While working at the store Matteo enhanced his record collection with a special focus on Calypso, Soca, Afrobeat and Disco. After sharing his distinctive sound with audiences between the Netherlands and Italy, Matteo makes his first trip to Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados in 2020 to explore forgotten music styles, genres and sounds from the past as well as to collect DJ's stories. From that moment on Matteo becomes a full time record dealer and music event curator in Amsterdam. Matteo also hosts a monthly Radio show called Lava On Wax at Echobox Radio where
