Martin Belmont has been a musician since 1972 with Ducks Deluxe. In 75 he helped form The Rumour, who with Graham Parker, toured the world between ’76 and 1980 and recorded 6 albums. He then worked with Carlene Carter and Nick Lowe. In 1987 he hooked up with Hank Wangford with whom he still plays.
Since 2011 he has worked with ‘My Darling Clementine’ recording 3 albums. In 2012 Graham Parker and The Rumour reunited to tour the US and the UK 3 times, Europe once and recorded 2 new albums as well as appearing as themselves in the movie ‘This is 40’. Martin is also featured in a 90 minute Graham Parker documentary ‘Don’t Ask Me Questions’
As well as 2 CD’s of his own work, Martin also played sessions inc Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Billy Bragg, Carl Perkins, Kirsty Maccoll, Reg Meuross, John Hiatt, Desmond Dekker, Geraint Watkins and many more. He now plays with Phil Rambow. Also teaches and has published 2 songbooks of GP&TR music. Has had The Guest List radio show for 2 years.
