Mark Davis’ passion for jazz, funk and soul goes back a long way. As a young boy living in sixties London, the music that fired him up was Motown. The love of soulful music with a strong beat and bass-line was carried into his teens and by the mid 1970s, Mark was in his element with the emergence of jazz funk. A DJ in and around London for the next 10 years, he also presented radio shows on JFM (and other stations) alongside legends such as Pete Tong and Steve Walsh. Until September 2023 he was a monthly presenter on Solar Radio (Vinyl Special) and has returned to live gigs in recent years.
Mark Davis has lived on the Isle of Wight since 2010 and works in the music business. Uploads of some vinyl from his record collection can be found on YouTube under 'Fastflyer2007'.
