I was a HUGE Weather Report fan and I remember the first time I heard Joe Zawinul's tribute to Cannonball Adderley on the Black Market album and I had to read the liner notes to find out who was playing bass. I mean I loved Alphonso Johnson and I even LOVED Miroslav Vitous even more, but as soon as the Heavy Weather album hit the streets Jaco was on par with Stanley Clarke as far as I was concerned. I later read in Downbeat that Jaco introduced himself to Zawinul saying, "Hello, my name is John Francis Anthony Pastorius III and I am the GREATEST Bass player in the world. That was right after telling Zawinul the Weather Report concert he just attended wasn't that good. This session honors the GREAT Jaco Pastorius and his work as a leader, with Weather Report and as a sideman. Featured are his work with Joni Mitchell, Al Di Meola, Herbie Hancock and of course Weather Report. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for listening.

I can't get enough of Jaco's work. I just watched the documentary of him on iTunes.
