3rd Street Jazz

Philadelphia, United States

3rd Street Jazz was a Jazz record store in downtown Philly where I used to buy my jazz albums growing up. Anything I heard on WRTI the local jazz radio station out of Temple University in Philly that I liked, I would write down and head over to 3rd Street Jazz the next day and purchase. My goal as a kid was to have a jazz collection the likes of Kareem Abdul Jabar who was known at the time to have an extensive collection of rare jazz albums.

During my military days while stationed in Okinawa, Japan I started replacing a lot of my old albums brought at 3rd Street Jazz with Japanese version. During that time I landed my first DJ job as the Jazz DJ at the base club on Sundays.

Now 30 years later I still have a rich taste for Jazz and love to share my feelings through my mixes, so I created 3rd Street Jazz on Live365 during December of 2014 and switched to MixCloud in May of 2015.
