I never really knew what music I was into and would "accidentally" tape various types of songs off the chart show. That was until I saw an advert on TV for The Ministry of Sound's Annual II. Everyone looked so happy and smiley and the music was like nothing I’d really heard on the chart show so I hinted to my parents that that would be a good Christmas present. I spent Christmas day on my parents Technics tape deck, in the front room, listening on some headphones as everyone watched TV. When Arms of Loren dropped as The Queen was starting her speech I knew what music I was into.
From SoundLab DLP3R’s I quickly moved onto Technics 1210’s (Which still going strong) And I have progressed from French house, through to Trance and hard house and now Techno, DnB and some Psytrance. I love mixing with Vinyl and now use Traktor emulation but I am getting to grips with CDJ’s. I am not a great planner, but love to mix on the fly and feel I get more energy in the mix that way.
