Marion Deschamps is a French journalist freshly imported to LA after almost a decade living in Ecuador, Cuba and Venezuela, reporting about music and grassroots struggles during the day, DJing at night for radically non-binary collectives like Pacha Queer and Sin Verguenza. Her music taste is both informed by a nerdy background in social sciences and a passion for dancing anything from salsa brava, perreo and her own goofy style of pole dancing; thus resulting in her curiosity for investigating the subcultures and communities who inspired and created dancefloor hits around the world – often erased in the narrative of pop culture. With roots in the deep, deep, French countryside, she’ll be more likely to introduce you to some overlooked punk doo-wop or a rural rap banger than a hip French toucher from Versailles.
