Black Marine is an award-winning composer, perfromer and music producer whose work blends classical tradition with experimental innovation. Trained in composition, orchestration, and piano at the Faculty of Music, University of Belgrade, she later specialized in electro-acoustic composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw/ELAK) and electronic music performance at the STEIM Institute in Amsterdam, where she developed her signature instrument, the crackle box. She holds a doctorate in music science from mdw, focusing on popular music.
Her work spans contemporary classical, electronic, experimental, and film music, combining live performance, custom-built instruments, and innovative production techniques. Black Marine collaborates internationally with composers, bands, and artists, and is currently creating original scores for the acclaimed New York ensemble Composers Concordance.
