Ceol (Lucy Anna Rhoades) has a lifelong relationship with music as a dancer, fan, journalist, festival director, DJ and electronic music producer. A UK native she has been in Byron Shire Australia for the last ten years. Her current electronic productions mix deep house and techno with feminine geeky electronica and a touch of punk rock.
'Ceol' pronounced "Kyol" is an Irish/Gaelic word meaning music, song, vigour - THE RHYTHM WITHIN US. This word conjures not only music but the conviviality that is a central element to Irish life. The idiom ‘you are my music’ essentially means ‘Bravo!’
Ceol has also spun vinyl as DJ Some Bird - so called because she heard guys say 'There's some bird on the decks' so often ;)
