Raised in a musical household and an early habitué of art-house cinemas, I have an enduring weakness for great soundtracks, dancing, beautiful things, cultural rabbit holes and both haute and low-rent manifestations of inspired high weirdness.
My tastes roam freely - from Mahler and Angine de Poitrine to cryptic crosswords, Dadaist oddities, typography, electronica and data journalism. An idealistic pragmatist with a well-tuned bullshit radar, I’m increasingly interested in pattern recognition and the connections between seemingly unrelated things - and remain convinced that the vaguely absurd is almost always more interesting than being captain sensible.
