Dj Arabesque started several years ago after travelling and working overseas in Egypt and Turkey, and turning to DJing at Bedouin beach bars and playing the saz at cafes as part of the process.
Returning to the UK I began collecting tunes on an FB group and researching the diversity of ethnic and world music both in the UK, the Middle East and internationally.
Recently moving to Leicester and working with a local community radio, DJ Arabesque now has its own show both on air locally in Leicester and online on www.leicestercommunityradio.com and www.leicester.fm.
The shows play live saturday night / sunday morning at 3am, and are also available on playback via the website.
This mixcloud page is a means to be able to put all the shows together to be able to listen to them via streaming as another alternative to live, airwaves or download.
The range of tunes now combines contemporary and traditional music from all over the world.
