Kung Fu Chris (Chris Arenas) is a Los Angeles-based DJ, producer, and selector whose dedication to the dance floor spans more than two decades. Rooted in the art of the dig, his ear moves freely across disco, boogie, funk, soul, house, and rare groove — threading the rare and the timeless into sets that bring movement and connection to the listeners.
He came up in San Francisco's thriving 1990s music scene, building community through beloved weekly parties before spending several pivotal years holding residencies in New Orleans. His sound has since traveled to New York City, Washington D.C., Austin, and Costa Rica.
In 2015, a performance at a legendary Los Angeles party brought him to the city for good — eventually connecting him with DJ Randy Watson and giving rise to MidNite Disco, a party, a radio show, and a shared language built on care, curiosity, and deep respect for the floor. The duo co-hosts a bi-weekly show on 99.1 KLBP Long Beach.
