Kansas City Raver Origins
The Kansas City Raver first made its debut in Kansas City 2001 as a newsletter to support the newly formed non-profit group, Ravers Care. The objective of Ravers Care was to reinforce a positive image of the local Rave Community in the mainstream community and act as a supporting crew in the KC Scene.
Our first projects, aside from the production of a hard copy newsletter were volunteering feeding the homeless for Up Lift Inc. RC also adopted a highway at I-35 and Lamar. Some members volunteered at a battered women’s shelter, and most of us helped to recycle the plastic bottles left over after Raves. We all pitched in and inspired the scene to support a needy family have a great Christmas. A program offered by the Salvation Army. It was not long before we assisted staffing and field promotions for local events.
Ravers Care was discontinued, due in part to the creator of the group extending her family.
