Karolina Kapustaitė is a young emerging Lithuanian composer. Her compositions raise the significance of an idea, which often originates within extrageneric subjects and determines various compositional aspects, importance of a distinctive sound and a symbol.
Recent works focus on a sound itself, as the concepts of these compositions derive from the nature of sound or theories of psychoacoustics. The space becoming another important aspect of composer's music, raises a different concept of composition: not only to hear, but to experience the entire spectre of events and atmospheres happening or being created in a certain environment.
Karolina studied composition in the class of R. Mažulis at Lithuanian academy of music and theater, and R. Mirigliano at Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, was active in Centro Ricerche Musicali research center and is currently creating for theatre, cinema, alongside publishing articles about music and current art.
