I would definitely consider myself what Trey Ellis calls a "culturaI mulatto." I grew up in suburban Buffalo NY on 70's soul with rock influences from my friends across the street. In the early 80's I watched MTV daily & in the mid 80'sI got into hip hop, reggae, & club music listening to college radio. In high school it was all about everything Prince. In college I got deep into house music, although was influenced by dance hall, hip hop, Brit Soul, & new jack swing. Later I got into acid jazz & artists like Seal and Omar. When I moved to Brooklyn in the mid 90's I got into Garage and Loft classics, and the burgeoning global soul sound pioneered by Ian Friday. Now I'm in the midwest, so lets see where my musical journey takes me next.
