Jon Geffner has been writing and performing songs since the early 1980s. Raised on the Beatles and Stones, it was his discovery of Dylan and Springsteen that fueled his desire to write. Through them, Jon realized that music could provide an avenue for expression and act as an agent of change. Tracing the influences of his two main mentors, Jon found his way to the early rock and roll of Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly as well as the classic country music of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. He considers his style of music either rock and roll with a twang or country with a rock-and-roll edge—depending on the audience, the venue, or his mood. Other influences include Steve Earle, Guy Clark, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe, and Tom T. Hall, among others. Jon has played in various Long Island bands and performs his original material in clubs and coffee houses in Manhattan and Long Island. He has released three CDs: ery Country Road . . .
