Born Jan 14, 1961, in the Bronx New York City to Francisco Peransi his father who fled Spain 20 years earlier and was given political asylum. mother Haydee Andujar from Puerto Rico, the youngest of 16 was rescued from a life of servitude, doing manual farm and construction work for her elder brother by a cousin who paid for her to come to NYC.
